Effective Date: 9 September 2025Welcome to Hint of Us (“we,” “our,” “us,” or “the App”). By downloading, installing, or using the Hint of Us mobile application or accessing our website, you (“you,” “your,” or “User”) agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.1. Overview of the AppHint of Us is a mobile application designed to help couples improve their relationship by answering daily questions, tracking streaks, and interacting through gamified features such as hearts, kisses, streak boosts, and freezes. The App offers a free version with optional premium subscriptions that unlock additional features.2. EligibilityYou must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use Hint of Us. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.3. Account RegistrationYou may register using Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, or other methods we offer.You agree to provide accurate and complete information during signup and keep it up to date.You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.You may be paired with a partner via a code or invitation link; you agree you have consent from your partner to share any personal data you enter about them.4. Subscriptions and PaymentsHint of Us offers a free tier and premium subscriptions:Weekly: $4.99Monthly: $11.99Yearly: $59.99Premium features include unlimited questions, skips, sending kisses, streak boosts, streak freezes, more conversation topics, early access to new features, and date ideas in the users’ area (coming soon).Payments are handled through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Their terms, not ours, govern billing, cancellations, and refunds.Unless canceled, subscriptions auto-renew at the end of the billing cycle. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings.5. User ContentYou own the content you submit to the App (answers to questions, profile data, images, etc.).By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store and display it solely to operate the App and provide services to you and your partner.You are responsible for obtaining consent before sharing another person’s personal data or content.6. Acceptable UseYou agree not to:Use the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of any local, state, national, or international law.Harass, threaten, or defraud other users.Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise tamper with the App’s software.Upload malicious code, spam, or content that infringes intellectual property rights.Circumvent any paywalls, subscription models, or security features.We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violating these Terms.7. PrivacyWe only collect minimal personal data — currently limited to email addresses for account creation and subscriptions. Our back-end is hosted on Supabase, which stores data in secure data centers (locations may vary depending on Supabase’s infrastructure). By using the App, you consent to our data practices. We do not sell user information to third parties.8. Intellectual PropertyAll App content, trademarks, service marks, logos, and designs (other than your User Content) are owned or licensed by Hint of Us.You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the App without our express written permission.9. Third-Party ServicesHint of Us integrates with third-party sign-in services (Apple, Google) and may link to other third-party content or services. We are not responsible for those third parties’ terms, privacy policies, or actions.10. TerminationWe may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting your account and uninstalling the App.11. DisclaimersThe App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.We make no guarantees about the availability, accuracy, or reliability of the App.We do not provide mental health or relationship counseling. The App is for informational and entertainment purposes only.12. Limitation of LiabilityTo the maximum extent permitted by law, Hint of Us and its owner (Chase Hendricks), employees, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months (if any).13. IndemnificationYou agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hint of Us and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, or expenses (including attorney’s fees) arising out of or related to:Your use or misuse of the App,Your violation of these Terms, orYour infringement of any third-party rights.14. Governing LawThese Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved as described below.15. Arbitration and Class Action Waiver (Recommended)Arbitration: Any dispute or claim arising from or relating to these Terms or the App shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by a recognized arbitration provider in accordance with its rules. The arbitration will take place in California.Class Action Waiver: You and Hint of Us agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.If you do not wish to be bound by this arbitration clause and class action waiver, you must notify us at [email protected]
within 30 days of accepting these Terms.16. Changes to These TermsWe may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms and update the Effective Date above. Third-Party Sign-In and PaymentsIf you sign in with Apple or Google, those companies’ privacy policies govern how they handle your information.If you subscribe via the App Store or Google Play, those stores handle payment processing and maintain your billing information. We never see your credit card number or billing address.7. Your Choices and RightsAccount Deletion: You can delete your account at any time within the App or by emailing [email protected]
.Access or Correction: You can request a copy of the information we have about you or request corrections.Opt-Out of Marketing Emails: If we ever send marketing communications, you can opt out via unsubscribe links or by contacting us.Because we collect only minimal data, we do not offer extensive opt-outs beyond account deletion.8. Children’s PrivacyHint of Us is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.9. California Privacy RightsIf you are a California resident, you may have certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). These include the right to request access to or deletion of your personal information. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.11. International UsersOur servers are located in locations determined by Supabase, which may be outside your home country. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of information to the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.12. Changes to This Privacy PolicyWe may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy and update the Effective Date above.
